Bringing a Midwest sensibility to the perennial Portland DIY music scene, Mack John, with the help of Nate Anderson, Matt Rossi, Pat Tabrum, and Jenna Leigh, formed Friends Friends in 2023.
Inspired by artists such as Dr. Dog, Courtney Barnett, and The Beths, Friends Friends indulges in the comfortable aura of a joy-filled performance that sways from delicately layered tracks with five-part harmonies into grittier psych and noisy rock n roll.
Friends Friends debut EP, “Nobody’s Sorry,” dropped in 2024 and was recorded at Hallowed Halls (who tracked the likes of Sleater Kinney, Vance Joy, Daughter, and Fall Out Boy).
Friends Friends surprises with a charming & uplifting sound; a band that sounds like the end of daylight savings time or flowers blooming in a basement.
